How long till a chicken is fully grown?

I think the key is just because they are laying eggs doesn't mean they have reached their full grown size. Most of my chickens are between 10-11 months old. Some of them are just started to lay. None of them are the size the book said they are. I have brahmas and cochins which are some of the bigger but slower growing breeds. They are about 5-6 lbs now.
