I've never seen, or even heard of a hatch that color. He's probably a cross of some sort.
That would depend on the predator risk factor that you face in your area. I prefere to let my hens free range with chicks only after they are fully feadered, before that, I preffere to put them in a large pen (8x8) untill fully feadered.

Hello, All! Seems I have been posting in all the wrong places, silly me! LOL
I can't seem to copy paste so I will try to start from the beginning.
My neighbor is selling off his entire flock due to his declining health. He has a large flock of game and a decent flock of Doms.
We are wanting to get one game roo and 5-10 game hens with some game pullets as well (they are about 3-5 months) I will be selecting these birds out of about 40 hens and about 6 cocks.
Since these birds are not meat birds we will be wanting to try to sell extra roos and kill as little as possible. To this end, I would love to be able to select birds as close to SOP as possible so I can better breed show birds and increase the likelihood of selling them.
Could I get some pointers on what a good example of an American Game bird is? I would like to know structural things to look for as well as any other pointers. I do not have time to buy the SOP for this breed before I need to select them.
I would *love* to see some pictures of bad examples vs good examples, as I am super visual.
Thanks in advance!
