Is my duck egg alive?

Yeh. Glad to hear you had a change of heart and want to try again. It's soooo rewarding when you get that first one to hatch, after that it becomes addicting. LOL

I think I'll cry when the first one hatches lol. I'd really love some ducklings to hatch with this new incubator I ordered I think I'll get much better results!! I was hand turning so opening the incubator obviously didn't do them any good so with this new one I can keep it shut

I can understand why it's addictive it's such a amazing experience to watch them grow!!

I don't think opening it and hand turning is the problem. I hand turn mine, I have three bators all hand made and neither one has a turner. I would say something else is causing the issue..

That first one is a thrill, then comes that second then third, then another breed lol. Then your overwhelmed because you have 40 ducks and 200 chickens, but will you stop....

NOPE!!! LOL

oh thank god I was thinking it was my fault!! If I put the incubator in the kitchen will they be ok? It's so worth it though isn't it

Where you put them isn't going to matter either, What's going to matter is having the temp where it needs to be, the humidity where it needs to be without a whole lot of fluxuation.. proper cleaning keeps the bacteria away...

If I was to guess at your issue I would say probably a humidity issues. That empty spacing tells me the embryo couldn't grow and was being confined by some nasty goofy stuff.. When it died then the bacteria kicked in.. so it probably suffocated first...

I was using the mini eco had the temp at 37.5 and the humidity 45%. When I would turn them though it felt far to hot in there I'm pretty sure it's faulty!! So I've bought this one which I thought looked much better!
