My VERY FIRST EGG!

I'm so excited! My 14 year old daughter went out this morning to feed and water our chicks. I heard her scream then came running inside to tell me there is an egg in the coop! Our chicks are almost 20 weeks. I'm pretty sure this one belongs to "Gladys" our black austrolorp. lol.png

Congrats!  The first egg ever is the most special.

And yep, looks like it's from the Australorp - she is more red than your EE.

Having an Icelandic in the coop is like having a 2 year old in the house - they are into everything and don't follow the rules.

Thank you! Funny thing a couple hours later we found another one from our SLW! It was a special day indeed.

Ours started the same way. Two in the same day, a few hours apart. Both laid while we were down there! Fun, huh?

do chickens have terrible jealousy? I got my first two with 5 hours. Almost like they go, "Hey! I want one too!' lol
