Help, Gosling not gaining weight

He just got his splint off :)

The vet says he's healing nicely and should be fine though despite the splint it's healed at a bit of an angle which means his leg is gonna stick out permanantly. He has one more week of pain killers and restricted movement and then he should be more or less tip top. He still isn't growing as much as a typical 4 week old goose but the vet did say he grew in the week since the splint was put on which is heartening (it's hard to tell if he's growing since his brother is obviously growing much faster). I've decided yo try measuring him from now on so I can see the progress myself (slow as it may be) and he's been seperated from his brother to prevent his leg from being stepped on (gees seem to step on goslings a lot, I wonder why that is?). They're still next to eachother in their respective cages so they can talk though (they get upset when they're apart). Thanks so much for all your support and I will keep you updated on his progress as I think he still has a long way to go. I was going to attach pictures but similar to last time where I tried to attach several and only one worked this time none seem to be attaching. I'll try sending them in a different post but if it doesnt work I'll just have to try on the computer later :)

Thanks so much for the update. Sounds like he is a tuff lil bugger and your doing a great job with him. I think geese are pretty clumsy when little and step on anything that gets in their way. Hopefully by the time he is ready to be physically reunited with his brother he won't get stepped on. Love to see more pics when you get a chance.
