Hatching duck eggs for the first time!!

Thread Starter
I need help. I have a cayuga who has gone broody, she is sitting on around 10-12 eggs. I believe the eggs are pretty far along I think they are around day 15-20. What should the eggs look like? Some of my eggs are turning black is this normal? They don't smell or anything! I'm afraid to take the eggs out of the nest just incase the eggs are still good!!

I actually just greeted you on your other thread, but as I said there, welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm a chicken person and don't know much about ducks (although I've had a few), but definitely post on our Duck section in Other Backyard Poultry under the Forum at the top of the page and take advantage of our duck experts there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

I would take Michael's advice  but, I don't think blackened eggs are going to be viable.

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele
