Is this chicken a hen or a rooster?
I bought what I thought were 6 hens. But fluffy is starting to make me question her hen status!!

Compared to the other chicken in pix, I have to agree with you that it does look like a roo. If all are same age, and this one stands out different , then you know you are right. Remember that even the PROS that do the sexing of chicks only get it 94% correct at best. Sex links are obviously at 99.99% I leave a trace for unforeseen possibilities.

WISHING YOU BEST.

Fluffy is around 20 weeks old along with her or his sister below. They were the two youngest of the litter by 2 weeks. Now fluffy has sprouted in the last few weeks and is the biggest and top chick in the coop. Now I think back fluffy was always the one that was the boldest. Would come to me and not squak as much when I held it.

head hen.

Fluffy turned out to be a boy after all. He started with little crows then got louder. He started to get very aggressive. He started to try and mount the other chickens. My dog thought he was hurting the girls and they got into it. They both were fine. But if the girls and him were out in the yard and the kids or myself came out he would start crowing and fluffing his feathers. So I made the decision to get rid of him. Luckily the guy I bought them from took him back. That eased a little anxiety with the kids and myself.

So far we have started to get eggs from our lovely ladies, and we are getting an egg a day.
Today we got 2 eggs.
