Lame Chicken Exam - Necropsy Pictures Added

It's two years later Kathy..... what are you getting at??
Don't tell me you froze her body and you are just defrosting the freezer and feeling hungry..... or is she one of those that got tucked in the veggie drawer in your fridge? eek! :sickDid you ever find the sciatic nerve?

I got confused and didn't see how old this was.
I did not do a proper necropsy, so I didn't find the sciatic nerve.

And there are no birds in the fridge right now. :D

I'm not sure my dissection skills are good enough to find the sciatic nerve and definitely don't have the time or probably inclination to try..... would there be any point once you know you have Marek's in the flock anyway?
Good to hear your fridge is not currently harbouring any necropsy subjects. Must be a positive sign that your flock are doing well. :thumbsup
Sadly I have one currently battling Marek's but she is showing some significant improvement since being allowed to free range in the garden around the pen where her flock mates are confined. She is eating well and holding her weight and it has been a good couple of months since she started losing coordination, so I'm hoping she might survive this first attack. At 4.5 yrs old it's a little disappointing that she has succumbed to it now although she has only been with the Marek's flock for a year and a half, having been adopted from a neighbour.
