Help! Rooster has a throat problem!

This morning when I let the birds out of their run into the yard, the secondary rooster wasn't acting right. He's letting out a horribly weak sounding whine with every exhale. He's following the others but isn't very into digging and scratching, he's just making that sound on exhale and closing his eyes.

The only thing different this morning was I threw a stale bagel in the run when I let them from the coop into the run before going back to sleep for a couple hours (I work nights).

I'm wondering if a sharp bagel piece might have cut/scratched his throat or is stuck?

Unfortunately, I was exhausted this morning and didn't watch them with the bagel. He did exit the coop and go into the run with the others, so I didn't notice anything immediately wrong at that time.

I took a video but I don't know how to upload it.

I've fed him olive oil/water soaked into small pieces of bread, a few bits of his regular feed softened with water and the primary rooster brought him a raisin which he gobbled up and then continued the whine/wheeze. I've given him a few drops of water as well.

His crop feels empty. He did eat normally last night.

This is horrible to watch. My first chicken emergency and I hate how they can't tell you what's wrong!

Please any advice from you fellow chicken loves???

Update: his eyes and nose are clear, but I have heard him sneeze. If I look inside his throat, how do I do it and what am I looking for/at?

Found a vet that sees chickens. Taking him there. It's a long drive. Poor thing has never been in a car before.

Nothing on the x rays. Vet gave him an antibiotic, a vitamin and fluids. He's home, crated, at 70F. He's had diarrhea. Still making that noise. Poor birdie.

No obstruction seems like a good sign. Keep him comfy and add a good vitamin booster to his water. It sounds like he just scratched it and may just need a few days to recoup. Coincidentally my am roo makes this funny little weezing sound at the end of a crow like he's trying to catch his breathe before he's finished. Anyways best of luck with the guy.

Thank you. He just ate a few tiny shreds of bread soaked in a broth I made with electrolyte/vitamin/feed. Maybe a teaspoon total, not enough for a big guy like him but better than nothing.

Do you know about how warm I should keep this crate? I'm used to sick dogs, not sick birds!

How great would that be if he just had a scratch and he's THIS much of a complainer! He had the Worst Day of his Life the other day and it was like the world was ending. Talk about Chicken Drama. He was beating up on me as I was making rounds so I put him in the run when the others were foraging. He was in isolation for a whopping 10 minutes before I let him out! You would think I was torturing him!

If your keeping him inside i imagine the ambient temperature should be enough.
