Eye problem, free range peacock

That's excellent. If your children work with him just as they are in the picture petting him and stuff he might become tame and bond to you kids.

I am so upset...our beautiful boy didn't make it. Yesterday the temperature here got to 42°C (107.6°F). There were bushfires about 20km away and we are in an area at high risk for bushfires, so I made the decision to go stay at my mum's house for the night. Before I left I made sure the peacock had plenty of his water and although he was panting he seemed relatively ok. But he must've been so weak. I'm convinced that if it hadn't been so hot yesterday he would still be alive. I'm so very upset. Thank you all for your advice, I really appreciate it.

Once we're out of the woods a bit with my daughter's cancer treatment we are going to get chickens, so you will see me around here still. I'm not sure yet if we will get more peafowls, might see how chickens go first and take it from there.

RIP beautiful creature, so sorry you left us

Ah man, your post crushed me. I am so so sorry for your lose. If you were able to get to Central Texas I would make sure you went home with plenty of replacements at no charge. Good luck in the future and please keep us posted.

Thanks for your kind words. I am emotionally exhausted tonight, can't stop thinking about him :(
