I haven't had to deal with mites but I know the wood ash helps get rid of them. Haven't ever used seven so I can't speak to that but a lot of people here do...

I had a huge infestation of silverfish durning the summer. One night I went out to check on the girls and lock up their poop and it look like the whole ground was moving I thought what is that I took a closer look I about died millions and millions of silverfish I looked up the insect and they do not harm chickens but they try to eat their food and their just cause problems so I grabbed the Sevendust and used it and within three days completely gone. I was impressed. But that means the powder is toxic lol but I guess it's the better of the two evils
