I inherited several newly hatched chicks with no idea of breed or gender. Most of them have been figured out, but these two black chicks are a bit of a mystery. I’ve read a lot on Jersey Giants and Australorps and there is conflicting information on the importance of the yellow on the bottom of the feet. I also read today that Australorps have white skin and Jerseys have yellow?
Here are pictures of the two birds. They hatched on November 18th, so they are 5 weeks old. I would love to hear some thoughts on breed and gender.
Thanks!

Bird #1

Bird #2

Both of them together:

With the pink bottoms of its feet, bird 1 is a Black Australorp. Bird 2 with the yellow bottoms of its feet is a Black Jersey Giant. Jersey Giants are slow to mature but it should eventually surpass the Australorp in size.
