Help! Rescued a goose

Knowing Texas it is unlikely a pomeranian since they are not very common and she is not heavy.
Her beak is also not pomeranian colour so she is likely a mixed breed.
(Pomeranian is a goose breed)
It's definitely a girl which would have suggested why she got along with the chickens straight away ;)
What's your plan? She will need a buddy because chickens aren't good enough ;)
jtn is has covered it real well,

she/he is lovely maybe @servpolice
can help with gender.

Here is a bit more info  https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/other-backyard-poultry-ducks-quail-turkeys-geese-etc

I can't tell if she is a Pomeranian (servpolice - poms with the correct bill color are sadly pretty rare here as you can tell from my profile pic) or a Toulouse/Embden mix. I concur that based on the shape of the bill, I would say its a female.

I couldn't tell from the photos, but does this goose have brown or blue eyes and a single or double lobe (the fat deposits in between its legs)? Since a lobe isn't obvious from the photo, it is most likely a young goose (spring hatch) as all my older girls are already developing good sized lobes since laying season is only weeks away. If it has anything other than blue eyes, it is most definitely a mixed bird with a saddleback pattern: all Pomeranians have blue eyes. A single, especially a single centrally located lobe with blue eyes would support her being a Pomeranian though.

Their are several Pomeranian people here in the South and the grays are far more common than the Buffs I raise. Some of my young geese fly well enough to clear a 6 foot fence (so does my oldest gander), so it may have escaped its area. If you want to find its owner, post flyers at the local feed stores and tractor supply company.

wow!!! thanks for all the good info!! She is doing great again today. I cannot believe how friendly she is. Does she have to have a boyfriend? I only ask because we weren't even planning on keeping her, Just trying to save her from getting run over. We have 20chickens already lol. AND yes She does have a blue eye, the other one looks brown though. She hasn't given us too many chances to get real close yet =)

They really do better if they have one of their own. She does not need a boy friend another female would be great.. jtn offered one of his young geese as a friend only thing is they are this years hatch too so you might end up with a gander.. But it would be nice if you could keep her or find her a wonderful forever home that you know you can trust.

Also goose eggs are wonderful eaten.

If there are two different eye colours then it's 100% a mix.
1MrsMagoo said it looks like she is this year's bird.
Is she kind of scared of you or is she alright?
