Layer Mash - Differences?

What is the difference between layer mash and layer crumbles, like i realize that layer crumbles are the same texture as the chick grower and all, but layer mash (which is what i bought the other day as the girls are 18 weeks old and should be laying soon, haven't started feeding yet) is like mixed grains, anything special i have to do with it?

Layer mash and layer pellets ( actulley there is no diffrence in the ingredients only in the way they make it (crumbles or pellets) my birds like the crumbles may be because it is smaller and easier to eat.
But there are diffrent protein % some layer feed has 15% some has 16% and some has 20%.
I used diffrent brands, first was from the local mill (pellets) it was good but they refused to eat it unless I make it wet.
seconed was from tractor supply(crumbles) they liked it.
Third was from Purina feed ( crumble 16%) and they seem to love it.
Omran.
