The seller told us he was a jersey giant but i have my suspisions that hes an australorp

Yellow underfoot = Jersey Giant
White Underfoot = Black Australorp

I actually answered you already on your other thread. As I said there, if the bottoms of his feet are an obvious yellow, he's a Black Jersey Giant. If they are any other color (whitish, pinkish, grayish), he's a Black Australorp.

It's okay, it happens to the best of the newbies!
So how did it turn out? Did you look at his feet? Australorps are white to pinkish underneath, Jersey's are definitely yellow.

His feet are pinkish white underneath. He's about 8 months old and has little tiny buds where spurs are supposed to be.

So it was a local person that you got it from? I wonder why they said it was a Jersey Giant when its an Australorp? I wonder if they have a mixed flock or they don't know the difference?

Yeah it was local. He was also supposed to be a she lol. My first chicken since i was a kid. Had him for about 4 months now
