I bought some eggs off ebay that are supposed to be jumbo texas a & m quail. I have "jumbo" coturnix already and not sure what is jumbo about them. So the texas quail I have are a little over 8 weeks old and one or two are just starting to lay. I grabbed a random bird and weighed it and was a little over 8 ounces live weight. From what I hear the a&m's are from 10-14 ounce live weight at 7 weeks. To me they just look like a regular slightly larger coturnix that is mostly white. A lot of them do have randomly placed brown coturnix colored feathers and spots. SO what I want to know, is there a reputable place to sell genuine Texas A & M eggs? I don't want to sell my eggs and quail as texas if they are just a washed out brown coturnix!

Jamesmariefarms.com is the best source. True A&Ms died with the university project what exists now are jumbo whites that are basically a replication of the work at A&M. You wont see many 14 oz birds at seven weeks but they should be a lot bigger than 8 ounces.

ok cool I will check them out. I'm pretty sure at this pount these are just slightly bigger coturnix bred to be mostly white. oh well :(
