love BYC!

Thread Starter

Hi all! I'm new to raising chickens (within the last 6 months)- I LOVE IT! we have 5 (3 silkies,1 plymouth rock, and a rooster that I have no idea what breed it is..., lol) My Plymouth and one of the silkies just started laying!

I am looking to add 2 Leghorns to my family- but I don't want chicks (I'm not ready for that!)... any suggestions where I can order?

No idea about where to buy chickens but if you type your location or statein the search bar you may find other byc members near you who may be able to advise.

Good luck and welcome!

Glad you could join the flock! State threads are great for connecting with others in your area. There is also the buy sell trade section that you can check out. Here is the link ~ http://www.backyardchickens.com/f/67/buy-sell-trade
Once you have a post count of 20 you could post a wanted ad.

Wishing you the very best of luck in your search.

Also, if you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at http://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in locating some Leghorns for sale.

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele

Silkie hens tend to go to go "Broody,"  which means they want to sit on and hatch eggs.  Since she is with a rooster, she will probably have fertile eggs.
