Resurrecting an old thread here.

The OP had chicks from a Buff Orp roo and a Light Brahma hen.

Not wanting to count my chickens before they hatch...but I have the opposite - a Light Brahma roo and Buff Orp hens.

If and when any chicks hatch, is it true that I'll be able to tell the sex of each chick just by coloring? (Still learning and getting more confused every day!) Thanks!

Me too. How did your chicks turn out? I also have a golden cuckoo marans hen, and a heritage Plymouth rock hen, My rock mix is a Roo and he’s huge and heavy at six weeks old! He looks 100% Plymouth rock but with feathered feet.
