Here is some better info and what you'll be looking at. To me it looks like your gander isn't as far along as some I've seen so you maybe able to get it treated pretty easy. Cutting is last resort.

Thanks, heartening to hear we probably won't have to cut. I can't find the colorless iodine here...still better to use the colored kind (Betadine) than nothing at all, I assume?

Yes just takes longer to work, what about some kind of drawing salve surely people in Cambodia use something to draw out infection? Just make sure ingredients are safe.
