But I've simply become the crazy chicken lady of our area thanks to our nine year old daughter. It all started when she asked for hens for ninth birthday in April.
She's an animal lover and a girl dreaming to be a barrel racing champion in the days to come. We also have a handsome son that loves being a "hungry farm boy" and chases the chicks around in play, but we're trying to teach him better manners than that
My husband is a K9 sergeant with our local sheriff's department, so to say that we are animal lovers is almost an understatement at times.
Then there's me, the crazy lady who just hatched 18 chicks in a preschool class room during the month of December. Better yet, we picked 15 to bring home. I now spend my nights worrying over their warmth and which ones will be roosters.
I am also a blogger over at Www.mommy2charli.blogspot.com

What are you best suggestions for a first time chick owner? They are now four weeks, and growing bigger each day!
