JulesK
Hatching
Hello! I am new to raising hens and have started with three baby chicks. They are about 6 weeks old and almost fully feathered. We have one of each of the following breeds: Buff Orpingtons, silver Laced Wyandottes, and a Black Australorp. The BA is the one I'm concerned about. The back of her neck has a patch of quills without feathers. I can't tell if the feathers are still coming in or if she is getting pecked by one of the others. Anyone know?
This is a photo of all three of them.
The Buff Orpington is always the calmest, slowest and the others always seem to hide behind her. I also wonder if she might be a HE?!
Thanks in advance for any advice!
