'Yote sighting

bb gun, or a paintball gun, could get him in trouble with local gun ordinances.
Really???OK , sorry here they don't count. Of course here people shoot at things and at nothing all the time here. It is funny to watch my Northern City friends come visit. They generally drop and cover for the first couple of hours.

yes, rural living just about anywhere will not have gun ordinance laws, but in town?

heck, even in Texas they have laws about discharging a firearm in city limits......

Here the rule is 50ft from road and 100ft from any building owned by someone else. But it specifically states firearms, so bb guns, paintball guns, pellet guns are not covered but I imagine that within the city limits houses are too close together for the legal shooting of a fire arm. But all the other options are OK.

Shooting a n animal like a coyote or deer with a little bb fun or even a paintball gun isn't animal cruelty

Keep in mind that cruelty laws vary from state to state, but laws about shooting animals with BB guns or paintball guns are usually specific to domestic animals because they are dependent on humans. You can basically do whatever you want to coyotes in most places
