Hello all! I'm new to BYC and have owned chickens for 3 years. I'm on my 2nd flock amd I think I found my favorite breed...bantam silkies!

I have a black hen, Bonnie; and a lavender roo, Clyde. They have recently mated and she is now broody....we'll see what happens![/IMG][/IMG]

Hi welcome-byc.gif

Glad you could join the flock! What lovely silkies you have there! I've not kept them myself but a friend has some and they are lovely little birds and very friendly too. They have been great birds for her children who love to let them. Lovely to hear you are enjoying your silkies.

Wish you the very best of luck with them in the future. Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat frow.gif

Did a moth know that the flame was going to change her life forever, or did she simply fly towards that heated embrace, knowing it would offer her something she couldn't give herself? In the end, the answer didn't really matter. The moth had never wanted the choice. -Joey W. Hill-

Welcome to Backyard chickens. Silkies are generally very good broody mamas.  You might like to  join  the "Silkie thread,"  and learn much more about the breed.

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele
