One of my hens is standing around with her head pulled in, and I don't think she is eating much (and I'm not sure she is excreting droppings, either). There is a hard lump on the front of her throat which I'm guessing is her crop, though it is higher than I normally think the crop is (but I'm still learning, so maybe I'm just totally wrong). This has been going on 2 or 3 days. Could she have an impacted crop? I'm a little concerned, and kind of at my wit's end with this chicken as it just seems to be one problem after another with her. Any suggestions on the best way to proceed are appreciated. Right now she is in a separate pen inside the run and has access only to water and layer pellets. She is alert and eyes open, but not very active.
