Ok I googled mottled java roosters and I can see where he could look like that one day when he outgrows his lanky teen stage. He is so awkward right now, and I have no idea what happened to his tail. We had two of these and my friend son killed the other one as a chick

and it would have probably been a hen then we could have had a pair! But I guess I'll never know....
