HELP my chicken is dying!

Raw honey is sticky...I wouldn't put raw honey on a chicken..a human yes, but not a chicken who is outside...every bit of dirt will stick to that wound.  I would put peroxide on it and leave her alone.  I had a chicken just like that ..she was even worse under her feathers , she had strings of meat hanging off of her and I left her alone and she came through it...She needed rest and alone time more than anything.  I didn't want to stress her out, as she had already had been through so much.

Raw honey does have hydrogen peroxide in it naturally;)

If you have comfrey, you could make a poultice from the leaves/root by mashing it up and applying to her wound. If you clean the wound first, it can speed up healing really well. Also, maybe give her garlic and onions for natural antibiotics and immunio support. Good luck and keep that poor baby separate from everyone else. I'm just worried about the pecking order shift that this will bring: (

But it's sticky ..was my point.
than mix equal parts of raw honey and fresh aloe vera leaf gel... I've done this to a pidgeon who looked exactly like this and he healed really well. Poor thing passed away after a week and a half due to internal infection, so definitely give her garlic/onions in her food and a splash of apple cider vinegar in her water. Keep her warm too.

Don't worry, doms are tough birds!!!

She will heal up fine. Just keep the wound clean and watch for infection. Don't put anything with pain killers on her or don't give her pain killers. She can have baby aspirin if needed. My hen was worse than this and she's fine now. Everyone may have already said what I have. Sorry, I didn't read all the post. Oh,definitely keep her warm and by herself so the others don't peck at her.
