Daily Duck Egg Report for 2016

I'm getting a dozen a day... Thank goodness our weather is about to turn. I can start letting everyone sit a nest! Ducklings sell fast, eggs will later.
I find I have to live my life of ducklings through others on here "sigh" but still love to see those babies.

I finally got a weight on my duck egg thanks to now having a digital kitchen scale from a very sweet person on here.

Muscovy duck egg weighed in at 2.50oz. Goose egg just for comparison 5.61oz
That is some good perspective. Your Muscovies are right in the range of my runner eggs and Snow's biggest double yolkers were around 4.5oz. So a big Pekin egg is closer to a Goose egg in size than a Chicken egg, but no way can she actually compete with a Goose egg. My overall average now (no Pekin), is around 2.8oz. With runners closer to 2.5oz and others closer to 2.9oz.

Up until 4 days ago, I believed that. I actually set an egg thinking it was from one of my geese, turns out, double yolk duck! (Not happy with double yolker)
But, on average, true statement!

Teyves Dad.... I keep rereading your duckling book...
