Howdy! welcome-byc  You can also do a "search" for some of your questions may have already been answered.  And don't forget to post in  an index topic that will more likely get your question answered.

Are your chickens let out into your yard, or into an enclosed run during the day?

One thing some people do to train their chickens to sleep in the coop is to lock them in there for a few days...  Of course, make sure they have food and water.  They will be forced to sleep on the roosts, and after a while, they will get used to it and will go there naturally.

The first time the chickens arrive at your place, you should lock them up for 2-3 WEEKS, not just a few days.

Then, after you open the coop door after 3 weeks, also feed them in their coop every morning and evening (it reminds them where there home is).
