Hi Ray and welcome to BYC- have you onboard. Sorry mate, I live in Kenya and we don't "do" cold weather so I'll leave the advice to other members who are used to brass monkey weather:D

All the best

Hi welcome-byc.gif Ray

Glad you could join the flock! I get a bit of brass monkey weather here in the UK! gig.gif My top tip would be a draft free, dry and well ventilated coop. Plenty of clean fresh water and good food. Chickens are remarkably hardy in cold weather if given the right conditions. Here is a lovely article from the learning centre ~http://www.backyardchickens.com/a/winter-chicken-keeping

Wishing you the very best of luck in your new venture and enjoy BYC frow.gif

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele

I actually have Swedish Flowers and they are the ones that venture out in any climate! (Wisconsin-18 degrees and they are out playing in the snow)! Pick a breed that is hearty! Less maintenance!
