I finished up this project a few months back, but haven't gotten around to posting yet. My girls needed more room and the coop and run they were in was pretty iffy to begin with. I drew up all sorts of plans for a new coop/run, only to realize I'd have to spend a small fortune on materials. Then, walking in to work one morning, I passed by a dumpster full of pallets and scrap wood, and had the epiphany to build a recycled shipping material coop! The coop itself is a crate, and all of the wood is from old pallets or other shipping materials. The roof sub-panels are from a larger crate. The only items I had to purchase were some plastic roof panels, hardware cloth, screws, and vinyl flooring. Most of the screws, latches, and even some of the hardware cloth were left over from other projects or re-used.

Here's the inside of the coop, prior to adding bedding. I have since added a second perch and a rope light around the ceiling. I think after the move an an abrupt change in the weather, the birds decided to stop laying, so I gave them some "encouragement".
