Hi to everyone, looking forward to some discussion and learning more about chickens etc. I have posted some pictures of the brooder that I started and will update when finished. Thanks to Barred Rocker for the article on building a brood, https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/the-brooder-pen. I modified it some, mine is 32 inches wide and I put a trap door in the bottom for easy clean out to a tote. I also put wheels under the legs because I will have it on cement and will need to move it around. I also used 3/4 inch plywood that I had to make the doors. Everything I used was scrap material and stuff I already had. I will post more pictures when finished.

I live in Alabama along the coast. So far we have had a couple of 32 degree nights, but it has been in the 60s during the day. Every few years we might get a day or two of snow but not much. This was built to be put inside, but I have some quail eggs coming that I am going to try and hatch so it probably will be used for them. I also have ordered some baby chicks so short term they will use it first. Thanks

Nice looking brooder, it sounds like you will get a lot of use out of it.
