My girls are 3 months old today or 13 weeks.
I feed them a 22% protein layer crumb
Snacks include veggies from our table as well as bread and mealworms for treats.
I occasionally see them eat the hay, but they mostly scratch at it looking for bugs.
I could be wrong but I thought layer feed was supposed to be given from 16 to 18 weeks of age. 12 weeks seems young. correct me if I'm wrong but I was always told the calcium in layer can damage a young pellets internal organs if she is not laying yet. I've always just "followed that rule". Also all the books I've read say the same. Have you ever had any issues giving layer feed that young? Just curious because I've always started out with starter feed then grower, and lastly layer.
