Tailess Faverolle?

One of my Faverolles, Eek!, has no tail. She has feathers back there, but they aren't like a "tail" (roo or hen). Does anyone else have a chicken like this? Her sisters all have tails, but for some reason she doesn't. Is it a sign of a  deficiency of some sort?  Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I wasn't sure were to put it.

Daw, I think she's cute love.gif

Does she have the nub for a tail, where the feathers would sprout up? In all my years of chicken keeping, I've gotten 1 rumpless chicken (a Silkie). I have no idea how it came about because I don't have any rumpless breeds. But, apparently some of my birds genes lined up just right to produce that tail-less chick. Aracaunas are a rumpless breed, for some breeds it is normal, obviously not for Favorelles though.

She is cute, but a little strange; she spent the first week here hiding under the coop. She came from a homeschooling family who loved them to death, so it's not like she was unhandled .

There is a sort of "bump" in that region, but it might just be her back. (she was fighting for dear life the whole time)

If she's rumpless, the tail nub should be missing completely. And in true tailess breeds, I believe they're missing one or two of their last vertebrae just before the tail too (mine had a very odd, short back too). Either way, with tail or without, it shouldn't be a problem for her.
