Hen with gash in the back of her neck

Never tried on mine, but I'm not so hot with these fancy things. If you have put some kind if antiseptic liquid into the wound then the cream should be fine but I hasten to add I'm far from an expert, I'm thinking about how I'd treat a human cut like you describe. Gosh ,I'd even think about a gauze dressing and do without the Vaseline but I've never had to deal with these problems before.

Sorry that I can't give any concrete advice based on experience which I know is what you really need.

Hoping someone else chimes in with more helpful advice.

Ha but u have helped and its almost looks like a hole about the size of a quarter but with the skin pulled back some but we will see if it has healed some or looks any better in the morning
 
Just a thought but if you re-post this thread with a new title "HELP chicken with gash on neck" you may get another response sooner. But do say it's a re-post so if they come across this one they can ignore it).

I don't know because the one rooster I'm trying to get rid of the hens don't let him mount them so he just grabs ahold and don't let go until he gets her but anyways Fred my dominant rooster chases him away when he try's to do that but it's possible that he did catch her
