Hello! I've been lurking here for a long time and finally decided to join. I live in a yurt in Appalachian country with my partner, 4 dogs, 2 house cats, 3 barn cats, a horse, and 12 chickens. We grow organic vegetables, cultivated mushrooms, and have 42 beehives. I'm actually a city girl being from St. Louis, but have found my home here and couldn't be happier. I adore my chickens to a fault and am glad to be part of this community!

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Many of us were lurkers before joining, I was one too! I'm sure you must be very busy with all your animals there! It sounds fantastic and it's great to hear you are loving this lifestyle after coming from the city. Chickens sure are fantastic and the chicken TV is great!

Wishing you the very best of luck in the future and enjoy BYC :frow

Oh yes, definitely! I hang out with my girls and roo for hours just watching them. I have 2 pullets that are new to the flock and so they are separated from the others in the coop. My 2 Ameraucaunas, who are lowest in the pecking order are just pacing to get at the new girls. Their system of hierarchy is fascinating!

I enjoy chicken tv every day myself, lol. They are interesting little animals and it seems there is always something new to learn about them. Glad you are enjoying your birds and other animals.

Make yourself at home here and if you have any questions, feel free to ask. There are a lot of friendly, helpful members here to help out.
