I have some beautiful Lavender Orpingtons. I am not having any luck hatching eggs from these guys. I have been able to hatch all my own Rhode Island Reds. I am not sure why I am having such trouble. The chick's are dying at hatching time. When we open them we find full chick's but they are not hatching. Any advice would be awesome. Thank you all so much.

Sorry about your luck. Maybe there's an issue with the shells themselves in your orps eggs that your rir don't have. I would love lav orps! They're beautiful! But im biased towards all orps 😊

Hi welcome-byc.gif

Sorry to hear you have had such bad luck with your lavender orpingtons hugs.gif
There are so many things that could be contributing to these failures. Parent bird health and genetics, egg quality problems and possibly incubation techniques.
Here are a couple of articles for you to check out, I hope they help you ~http://www.backyardchickens.com/a/egg-failure-to-hatch-diagnosing-incubation-problems
And one on egg quality ~http://www.backyardchickens.com/a/diagnosing-hatch-failures-it-starts-with-the-egg

Wishing you the very best of luck with your future incubation fl.gif
