Hello, I am recently retired and jumped into this chicken thing with both feet. I have 35 peeps to arrive in two weeks - 7 breeds, 5 each. That was the minimum shipment (5 of each) for winter shipment. I am a clever guy, with lots of internet research, but no ACTUAL experience. I fully expect all the chicks to survive - well most of them anyway. I will be looking to sell many of the juvenile before the city comes calling. Anyone in the Inland Empire who has an interest please let me know. The coop and the brooder could not have happen without the wonderful repository of information at BYC.
Will keep everyone apprised of my progress.

glad you have joined us.

If you haven't already done so, you should explore the learning center articles to help you get started.

That's quite a large number of chicks to start out with, and they do grow up quite quickly. Pay attention to the amount of space they require.

And keep a close watch for pasty butts the first week of arrival, it is much more common than I would have expected.

Good luck with your new adventure.

Hi and welcome to BYC. You certainly don't do things by halves eh? Good for you I say :)

All the best
