First time poster here. I just hatched out a couple chicks from my pure white feed store "ameraucana" roo to a supposedly pure buff Orpington hen. I knew we'd get mutts, but wasn't really sure what to expect since we don't really know the genetics of the roo. One chick hatched out as a pale buff, but its wings are coming in with muddy speckling. The other chick came out nearly white with a black head spot and black stripes. Any thoughts on the genetics of the roo to produce those colors in babies?
