Best Time Of Year To Get Quail?

Hence the title, when's the best time of year to get quails? My parents say it's spring, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm thinking of getting adult or juvenile quail (or whatever I can find), but not quail chicks. So can you explain to me which season is best to get quail?

Well.. I guess it could depend on several things. I read somewhere, that with button quail it might be an idea to pair them up when it's still cold, to prevent fighting. I don't know whether it makes a difference, but I got two new males in December and put one one of them in a new cage with two hens (cage was new to all of them) and another one in a cage with one hen (the hen had been in the cage for about a week) - and I never saw as much as a single peck from any of them. The roo with the two hens started offering them food almost as soon as he left the transport box, though the hens were slightly worried about his appearance at first and kept 10-20 cm distance ^^ - he's a tuxedo and they'd only seen wild colored buttons. The other roo and hen cuddled up right away. I don't know whether something similar applies to all quail - that they are less territorial and thus less likely to fight outside the breeding season. But it might be worth considering. Other than that, I don't know.
 
The only timing issue to watch out for is in the fall. I like my coturnix to start laying on natural light before the days get short and i have to use artificial light. Birds that start on natural will lay more consistently throughout winter than birds that get started on artificial in late season. This only applies to birds kept outside though.
 
I do apologize that I forgot to specify the type of quail! Now I'm not talking about coturnix, buttons, and other Old World quails, I'm talking New World quails (like the California valleys, Mearns's, mountains, etc.)! I'm so sorry that I should have listed the type of quail I am talking about.
