Hello, this is my first form and my first button quails. I am ordering 5 king and 5 blue eggs to incubate for $40 is that a good price. Any info on anything to do with incubating to feed type to... well anything to do with button quail would be great. the incubator i have is just a little mini one and I have a 10 gal tank for the chicks till the end of the month when I will get a 35 gal. I will separate the king and the blue so they don't breed a mix. I have fake plants for them and a gravel /sand substrate. Please tell me what else I will need or what I should change.

As for incubation, my buttons do that themselves so I don't know much about it. Buy once the chicks hatch, I give them a finely ground 24% protein gamebird starter feed. And very shallow water - actually have a pic of that:

The water shouldn't cover the pebbles (or marbles, that's very used too), they should have to get water between the stones - otherwise they are likely to get wet => cold => dead. The bowl I use is relatively small and relatively high, that makes it less likely that they walk in it but you need to make sure they can find it.
Now, your turn to enlighten me: What is 'king' and 'blue'? King as in 'King quail' as in 'wild colored'? Blue as in blue face? Blue as in gray? Something completely different?

Thanks so much for the info! It was on eBay, the king button quails and blue button quails. But when I tried to research theses I couldn't find anything I think they must be mix breeds or something I'm not totally sure what they are. So I am going to get Tuxedos.

Oh, you don't know either ^^ Tuxedos are nice, only problem is they can be **** hard to sex. I have a tuxedo roo that has the typical red vent feathers but many tuxedos are simply white in the vent area making feather sexing impossible..
