Hello everyone, I'm new to owning ducks an slowly working out what to do.
My most urgent concern is about clipping my ducks wings.
I have two Call ducks.
At what age should they be clipped?
Do I need to clip them?
How much space do they need to be able to take flight( run up, like a plane) ?

Thank you, I'm open to any an all advice.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm a chicken person and don't know much about ducks (although I've had a few), but definitely post on our Duck section in Other Backyard Poultry under the Forum at the top of the page and take advantage of our duck experts there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

Here's a link to get you to the duck forum:

Not every duck needs to have it's wings clipped...I'm not sure about Calls. Members on the duck forum can answer your question. Calls sure are cute little things.

There's some additional duck info in the Learning Center you might want to read:

Good luck to you!

You've been given some great links to follow, so I will just say "Welcome to the Backyard chickens flock. One thing to consider about clipping wings is, they are more likely to be taken by predators - since they lose one method of escape.
