How old does a dominecer rooster have to be to successfully breed hens for raising chicks.

Probably around now. I'd suggest searching for checking egg fertility in yolks when u crack them. Check threads here on BYC to see how to recognise evidence of egg fertility.

CTKen  gave you the best advice,  if there is a clear bulls eye on the yolk,  eggs are fertile.

Thank you all. That helps. I am not relying on them to breed my hens right now. I have them separated but a friend of mine had his rooster die so I am giving him one of them and I now have confidence he will do the job

Did a moth know that the flame was going to change her life forever, or did she simply fly towards that heated embrace, knowing it would offer her something she couldn't give herself? In the end, the answer didn't really matter. The moth had never wanted the choice. -Joey W. Hill-

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele
