I have broody hen I left sitting on four eggs. I did not know she would let other chickens lay next to her lol. When I moved her to her own spot there were 11 egg under her lol. So I let three hatch. I put in brooder hoping to take chicks as they hatch will this work.

I only have 1 experience with this. I think it depends on your hen. If she's the type that will leave the chicks once they are born it might not. But I had 4 eggs. 2 I left under the Hen and 2 I incubated. I wasn't sure she would be a good broody since this was her first time. Mine hatched on day 20 and hers on day 21. I kept mine in a day or two and when she was out with her 2 chicks showing them how to eat I brought them out and showed her them and put them by the other chicks. At first the 2 chicks I hatched followed me bc they were used to my voice. I ended up putting them all in the coop and shutting it until she accepted them which took a few hours. But I have read putting them under her from behind when they are a day old is best. I think I brought them to her a little late but it still worked

Are you looking to have her raise the chicks? If so let them be. She knows just what to do. If you are trying to introduce more to her do it from behind and quickly as soon as possible. If you are looking to raise the chicks in a brooder box then she may stay broody since she has no chicks.

If they are more than a day or two old she may not accept them. You may have to raise these guys and then let her raise the ones getting ready to hatch.

So far so good. Another baby hatched over night. Iam so proud of my broody hen she is doing great. After I took baby's I thought she would give up but nope. I took her first three babys 8 days ago and there doing great.
