How to waterproof a duck pond

Hi. I live in Southern Spain and breed Southern Andalucian chickens and Pato Mudo - Muscovy ducks. I am building a duck pond from concrete and clinker brick. This will serve the ducks and also serve to provide my Mango trees with fertilized water. I intend to line the pond with a 4:1 concete mix and paint it with waterproofer or I might mix waterproofer into the cement liner. Can anyone recommend a non toxic waterproofer? Is the stuff used for swimming pools OK? Thanks in advance

@mosca   it would probably be a good idea to contact the manufactor of the product your looking at, being your in Spain most likely you have different products than here in the USA. You might go to "Where am i where are you" thread and see if there is a Spain thread and ask there also.

Sounds like a nice project when done please post pics.

Thanks Miss Lydia.

I am using hollow cast concrete blocks on a cement sand and sharp river sand base 1:3:3. We intendend to skim the inside with a cement and soft sand mixture 1:4, with waterproofer in the mix water at 10:1, re enforcing all internal angles with chicken wire. I have fitted an overflow pipe and a bottom drain pipe because water is precious here and needs to be drained over the fruit trees. Pics follow!
