New layers.....

Girls just recently started laying (about26wks), I think there are three hens that appear to be ready but can't be certain all three are laying. In the last 15 days we've got 16 eggs plus, ?? this, Is this a fart (LOL) egg? middle bottom, soft as can be.....
Please excuse the dirty.... one was found in the run the other on the floor of the coop. Clean one is from the nest.

Just fyi: There have only been these two dirty ones and one other on the floor.

Those are full sized eggs, the fart eggs are tiny ones.  Since your hens started laying later, their eggs are larger.  Soft shells can be from Calcium deficiency - are you giving them layer feed with Calcium, if not, you should give them access to oyster shells.

Hopefully they will start laying in the nests, but not unusual for first egg to be anywhere.  Floor layers may remain floor layers, but many will eventually move to the nests.

Congrats on all those eggs.

Thanks for the answer. I was just thinking maybe someone started laying and it was their first egg. This is the first day we've had three eggs appear. 15 days into this laying things so very cool!
