Waiting on last egg to hatch

Thread Starter

I had 39 eggs in my hovabator. I think 3 are no good. 35 have hatched and the last one doesn't even have a pip.  There is a live chick in it.  I want to do something!  Has anyone ever pip-started an egg?

It's just my opinion but..........when and if a chick is ready to hatch, it will,  helping tends to do more harm then good and if people would of just left them alone they'd of hatch unassisted when they were ready, i see pictures on here all the time of people who got over excited and just had to help a chick and then you have a chick laying there with the yolk still un-absorbed and just needed a little more time.

I tend to agree. For me at least, if an egg doesn't hatch, then so be it, but faffing with it is something i never do. Im not suggesting that you should not if you feel its the right thing to do, just offering a similar opinion thats all. I have read that some members have done it with success.

All the best
