I'm assuming the black spots on the comb (bottom 2 pics) are probably peck marks. We went through a bout of dry pox over the summer and these do not look the same.

The crack of dawn this morning when I let the crew out of the coop I noticed our roo had 2 very light yellowish tan spots on his waddles. The only way to describe it now is some sort of damage. Not too sure if he went to roost one night with wet waddles or not. He let me check them without batting an eyelash..if they had any haha. So it's not hurting. Any ideas what I'm dealing with and how to treat?

• Eating & drinking fine.
• Not free ranged, coop is well ventilated. Run is mostly covered (has a roof and one side covered for winter)
• Freak weather this wk. Icy rain Fri through Sat am, snow Sat night that was gone by Mon am. Yesterday was 60 and today is 40.
• His girls do peck him a lot.

I think it may be frostbite. My roosters have gotten frostbite before and usually the black parts fall off. He's a pretty rooster!

Thank you Gossie, I hope it's just a touch of frostbite and nothing else. He's such a sweetie and more tame than the hens!
