Anyone in WV??? - Page 49

if you're not interested in any specific type of guinea, you may want to order through a hatchery.  The more you buy the cheaper they are.

I used to have a lot of Guineas, and they were useful, in that they ate the ticks.  I have not seen a tick in ages.

However, I mostly gave them away, because they were mean to the chickens.  They would chase all my timid little hens away from their food, and beat up on my not timid roosters.

They would chase them away even if they were not hungry, just because, I guess.

I may try getting a few more, say, five, to eat ticks, and hope that this batch isn't so mean.  It is my understanding that not all Guineas are mean.

Catherine,

I confirmed with our Tractory Supply in Clarksburg that they are having in their lot a Chicken Palooza in the first week of May. I think the flyer said that all types of livestock will be for sale/trade/etc. Hope you have an excellent spring- Ken

Oh, thank you!  I will make every attempt to make that.  It is supposed to be all week, or just one day, do you know?

I hope the Hurricane Tractor Supply swap ends up becoming a reality. That would be cool. Pretty close for me.

Little "farm" in a big neighborhood home to Rhodebars, Ameraucanas, OEs, RIRs, Cream Legbars, Wheaten Marans, EEs, Araucanas, Wyandottes, a ton of "mutts", 1 poodle, and one happy family!
