Is this a Silkie?

Its a hatchery quality Silkie, and very common for them to be missing or have extra toes (extra, extra toes). Even my BQ/SQ Silkies throw chicks with the incorrect number of toes. And not all of them hatch out with little crests. Some of my chicks have vaulted skulls, some don't.

If Flea *is* just a hatchery quality Silkie, do you think he/she is some weird version of Partridge? I honestly can't find a chick that looks like my little Flea, color wise.

I agree with "Howfunkyisyourchicken. I don't know if your bird is a pure silkie or whatever, it is MUCH to young to even think about it. However, pure silkies can certainly have 4 toes, straight combs, light skin, etc. etc. all this does is drop them down to the cull bin ( I don't mean euthanize, I mean sell as pets etc.). Partridge silkies can be almost any mix of coloring, your chick could certainly fit in that category.

If you bought as a pet - you won't be disappointed- I bet it will have personality to make up for other shortcomings.

You might want to post photos on the "Silkie thread."

My thoughts exactly. I've never seen a hatchery quality Silkie that color. Flea lacks the bolder stripes of a Partridge Silkie chick and doesn't seem to fit any of the other Silkie color patterns that I'm aware of either.

Got some better pics. Excuse the dark ones, the light in the room burned out.

The chick he is eating next to is a, I think, Polish. So you can see the size difference.

The giant green thing is the cap off a standard Dasani water bottle.

Here are some one's in better light.
