Breed of this roo?

He's from a hatchery, but I don't know what he is
post #2 of 6

He's a Red Sex-link.

Breeder of Dutch bantams, Wyandotte bantams, and a few exhibition rabbits.

Feel free to ask me questions about chicken and rabbit care, breeds, and showing! I'm always happy to help!

Oh, definitely.

Man, I picked the sexed chicks too hmm.png

How did I or the store miss this?

Definitely a Red Sex Link cockerel. That's a real failure on the part of the hatchery to have it in a RSL pullet order as male chicks are whitish and female chicks are reddish/gold.

I'm pretty sure they were sexed, anyway.

Or maybe it was that time when thete was a bad storm and the chick truck couldn't reach where it was going and had to go to that store instead.

The chicks were cheap since they had so many. At least Hundredmore than they were prepared for.

Many of them died.

I thought this boy was younger than those chicks... hmm

Anyway, he'll have to go.

I'm very picky on my roos, and I can't have him unfortunately.
